Coupon Code & New Pattern!

Hi Everyone,

I have finally gotten the hot air balloon quilt pattern done. It was a lot of work, but I think it has turned out rather nice. To celebrate I have decided to give everyone who reads this pathetic blog and uses the coupon code GOBALLOONING a 10% discount with a purchase of $25 or more! This code will be good until April 2, 2008
OK! Not much to say today. I have a ton of things to get done, so I am going to sign off for now!

Happy Quilting!

Sorry!

Hi Everyone!
Sorry it has been awhile since I have updated this blog. Not that there are too many of you out there that read this thing. However, to the ones that do, I am truly sorry.

I have been madly searching for chenille yardage. As you know I have recently been obsessed with rag quilts. I have been able to find a few interesting patterns that have not broken the bank, however I have only been able to find them in limited colors. I have also been thinking about how to handle the back. I think it will be in flannel with two prints that you can alternate into a checker/ four patch pattern. The front will be a combination of flannel prints, chenille, minky and fleece. Nice and soft for baby!

I have been thinking about what I want to make as the example. My cousin's girlfriend recently had a baby boy and I am considering making something for him. We will have to see. I did make up one to donate to our local school, however it is quite different than the ones I will offer. This one is music themed and made from regular cotton instead of cotton flannel and slightly bigger, as it will probably go to a teen rather than a baby.
Anyway, off I go... Getting late, I suppose I should get some supper together!
Hugs!

Ft. Lewis Jazz Fest

I just got back from yet another trip. I was fortunate enough to chaperone our middle school and high school jazz bands to Fort Lewis Jazz Band Fest. I tell you, it has been SEVERAL years since I have done anything like that. Well to be honest, it has been more like 20 years. Anyway, these kids were AMAZING! There was a school from Grand Junction, Colorado that made me almost cry because the song was so beautiful. This young man played the Soprano Sax beautifully. This school was not even the best... The best school was from Pueblo, Colorado. It was incredible to hear such talent out of such young people. I tell you what, I think in a few years you are going to be buying songs performed by a young man by the name of Barkley Moffett. Of course this is the humble opinion of a band mom!

Well off I go to bed! Chaperoning is hard work and late nights! I'm beat!

Chenille Bedspreads

So as most of you know I have been collecting Chenille bedspreads for the vintage rag quilt kits I would like to add. I received two the other day. I am VERY sad about one. It is a pretty light blue with flowers, however the tufting is polyester and not cotton. I am not sure if I should use it or not. Part of me says sure I should, after all Minky is polyster. It has an interesting feel to it and perhaps having those different textures would be nice for baby. The other part of me says no way, why would you want that in your quilt? Well I am going to leave it up to you! Tell me what you think. I will take your opinions and come up with a decision. I will see if I can take a poll, otherwise just leave a comment!

We're Back!

We got back yesterday evening from Colorado Springs and Denver. Jordan and his friend got to go indoor skydiving. They both had a lot of fun. I was not too sure about Jordan. The look on his face told me a different story than what he was telling me. I won't show you that picture, he would KILL me! I know it is a bad picture, but you get the idea!
Well I am back off to work!

Taking a trip!

Hi Everyone,
Jordan and I are feeling MUCH better. We only have runny noses now! Since Jordan has the week off from school, we are going to make a trip to Colorado Springs and then into Denver for a little fun. Jordan expressed an interest in skydiving, so instead of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane I am going to take him and a friend indoor skydiving. It should be fun. I think this time, all I am going to do is watch. I thought it is more important for Jordan to share this experience with a friend rather than MOM!

We will be leaving tomorrow morning and should get back late on Thursday. All orders that come in during the time we are gone will be shipped out on Friday and on Saturday. Thank you for your understanding!

Hugs!

Now I've got it!

Yuck! Lucky me, got Jordan's cold. Boy it knocks you out. Fever, chills, body aches and cough. I feel much better today than I did yesterday. I hope to have all your orders out today or tomorrow. Things would be much better if this headache would go away.

I have purchased two more chenille bedspreads for those rag quilts I have been wanting to do. So now I have white, green, blue and yellow. The blue and yellow are not here yet. They are supposed to be in REALLY good condition. I hope I don't feel too guilty cutting into something so perfect. The blue one looks really pretty, it has roses all over. I have a feeling I am going to want to keep it for myself!

Stay well everyone!

Hugs!
